- 17.03.08: Finished the 3-view-drawing
of the SALpeter. Instruction manual
is available now as well.
 |
+ compared to the Aspirin the SALpeter is kept
more slim
+ refined aerodynamics for improved performance in
all flight ranges except inverted flight
+ the single piece fuselage saves unnecessary weight
and improves reproducability of EWD
+ tailboom with oval cross section for higher bending
stiffness at less weight

- 09.02.08: Due to current reason (thanks Pete M. for the hint) we would like
to advise Aspirin competition pilots with ambitions to enter FAI contests
of a problem with the Aspirin fuselage nose radius. After long-term usage
in competitions it now was noted, that it does not completely fulfil the requirement
of a 5 mm radius in all directions. While the side view is conform to
the rule, in the top view some tenths of a mm are missing.
To solve the problem, it is just necessary to drop a little epoxy filled with
short carbon fibres into the nose, sand away 0.4 mm from the tip after
curing and finally round the nose again.
With the newer SALpeter fuselage the problem does not exist.
- 28.10.07: At the Int. German Open F3F on the Isle of Rügen Freestyler
3 could show some potential.
 |
+ place 1, 2, 3 went to Martin and Andreas
Herrig and Mike Müller, 5th place Franz
Demmler, all with Freestyler 3
|
- 11.09.07: A very exhausting but also successful season goes to the end.
In May we could present and use our new DLG - the SALpeter - at the Int. German
Championship F3K in Kaltenkirchen. All five models had been completed just
few days before, four SALpeters reached the fly-off and Henrik "Schulte"
Vogler could take the win infront of Martin Herrig.
Towards the end of the year series production is expected to be started. Up
to now only a few pre-series models could be delivered. Order
form for the SALpeter at Downloads.
Fortunately building the moulds and planes did not impact too much the preparations
for the WC F3B. In Emmen Martin and Andreas could get place 1 and 2 and together
with Reinhard Liese win the team cup, too.
The order form for the Aspirin has been brought to new state, also at Downloads.
Furthermore there are new proposals for settings and components of the Freestyler
3.

- 30.03.07: Freestyler 3 finally completed and test phase finished! Mid of
March delivery of first planes has started. Further details on the Freestyler
pages.
 |
+ Franz Demmler wins Babisnauer F3F (distance flight, winch)
with new Freestyler 3-prototype. These were it's first
flights on the winch.
+ Flight tests have shown very very nice handling and remarkable
agility.
+ As far as tested up to now, performance in weak to medium
slope conditions is outstanding.

The year 2007 brought some changes in german VAT, rising from 16 to 19 %.
We had noticed that, but only now was time to update the site. It affects
only the prices including VAT, however.
New wing versions available for the Aspirin: Kevlar-D-box for more robustness
and torsional rigidity. Often demanded, the Aspirin 2007 will be made with
carbon-rovings in the leading edge as a choice. Premium and Standard version
discontinued.
- 28.08.06: Enjoyable result at the Int.
DM F3K in Laucha: Martin Herrig is German Champion 2006!
86 pilots from 15 nations made this a European or even World Championship
like event. Relatively tricky conditions were prevailing with rather strong
winds and weak thermals. This made demands both for the pilots and the models,
as you had to be able to climb in very light thermals, but also return from
far downwind. Fly-Off places 1,3,4 and 8 were flown with an Aspirin.
Reports are here, e.g.:
http://www.f3f.de (soon to
be online)
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545289&page=3
So TUD can look back to a very successful season and congratulates all Aspirin-winners
of Eurotour-contests so far:
- Jaques Anziani (Romilly)
- David Kauran (Celje)
- Rudy Peters (Romans)
- Heinz Pfaffinger (Ludbreg)
- Henrik Vogler (Brockhagen, Karlsborg),
but of course also the runner-ups and thirds.
- 21.05.06: English version of the Aspirin
manual finished.
- 10.02.06: Some minor mistakes had creeped in at the last update, which are
corrected now. Furthermore the price for RDS installation in the wing was
slightly reduced to 70 Euro.
- 07.02.06: Since January high-modulus tailbooms with 1,5 times the bending
stiffness optionally available. Competition-Version now also with 28 g/m²
HM Kevlar outer layer for significantly increased robustness and torsional
stiffness. Exclusive USA dealer is Tom Copp (www.f3x.com).
- 07.01.06: TUD Modelltechnik took an enjoyable development in the last year.
Unfortunately, it will not be freed from turnover tax in 2006 anymore, as
the turnover will exceed the limit. Therefore new prices are necessary from
January on (previously without VAT). The prices of the undelivered orders
from 2005 will not be changed, obligingly.
 |
+ wings with UHM carbon lattice fabric (colloquial:
Disser fabric) available
+ 35% increased torsional rigidity, approx. 3-4 g
additional mass |
- 06.12.05: Order form
for Aspirin finished. Furthermore, there are now schemes
for the specification of colour design after own ideas. Slightly changed pricing
structure.
- 05.11.05: Over the time the Aspirin has evolved and improved further. These
changes are now fixed in an updated drawing.
 |
+ lighter wing without reduced stiffness,
typ. 118 g fully painted
+ typ. take-off mass 260 g
+ enlarged fin
+ 30 mm longer tailboom
+ improved technology enables lighter tails
of roughly 14 g total mass
+ tip area reinforced with rib and more carbon
+ longer throwing blade for wide fingers

- 12.08.2005: Back from the F3B WC in Finland
- we can be happy about the second place in the individual ranking and a superior
win of the team ranking!
In the mean time the new Aspirin tail moulds are finished. Sorry, there was
no time for updating the website.
The Aspirin-Team was very successful at the International German Championship
F3K (quasi EC) in Munich.
Of 8 Aspirins 4 reached the Fly-Off. Martin missed the title very closely
and got 6th through a questionable penalty, Stephan was 7th, Andreas 9th,
Rainer 12th.
TUD Modelltechnik
The company TUD Modelltechnik, briefly TUDM, is dedicated to manufacturing
of high-performance model aircraft. Models are made for insiders and advanced
pilots. Technology and design are the keywords contributing to the name of our
company.
Models are constructed by Andreas and Martin Herrig and have proven their competitive
potential on international contests in the classes F3B, F3F and F3K. Not only
years of practical experience but also extensive know-how in aerodynamics and
statics have found and find their way into design and construction of the models.
The result are models with superior performance, that guarantee successful
flights not only to competition pilots. Compromises concerning the pure aerodynamics
have been made were necessary with respect to transportability and robustness.
Production mainly takes place in Dresden, which contributes to quality for
a fair price.
Distribution of the DLG Aspirin makes the start in the process of
commercialization of a number of successful models. The well known F3B/F plane
Freestyler and the pylon racer Just Cool will also go into
production. Of course, selected future designs will be made available to the
public.
